Students will examine artists from the 20th century and beyond who have used their work to create, engage with, and challenge structures of power and dierence in historical narratives. They will learn how social movements and systems of privilege and power influence artistic production. This class may host 21st- century artists and curators who will explore how their artistic mediums explore narratives around identity.
